With the fall 2021 semester starting in just over 2 weeks, many Hunter students still lack clarity on their class arrangements. Junior Ariana Ahmed argues that professors must release syllabi as soon as possible so that students can properly prepare and not incur schedule change fees or lose out on tuition refunds. Incoming USG president Devashish Basnet is no stranger to public service. An immigrant himself, Basnet has experience managing a welcome center at the southern border of the United States, providing migrants with food, a place to sleep and medical services. Closer to home, Basnet advocated for flexible grading policies during the COVID-19 pandemic and the recognition of Eid al-Fitr as a university calendar holiday through his position as USG junior senator.
